SurAI: V1 wireframe

An AI vocal coach that listens while you sing a real song and shows, as you sing, whether you are sharp, flat or on pitch. This page covers structure and flow only. Visual design is in the separate Sur mockups.

Context

Problem (working assumption)People who want to sing better often practice alone and can't tell whether they are on pitch. A video can't listen to them, and a teacher isn't always available.
Who it's forSelf-taught singers who practice at home and want to match real songs they already love.
What V1 testsDoes hearing real-time feedback make someone want to try the same phrase again?
What success looks likePeople finish a take, tap Try Again, and their accuracy improves across attempts.

User flow

7 · Mic blocked permission denied
‹ BackPhrase 1
Someone Like You

Sur can't hear you yet
Allow microphone access so Sur can listen while you sing. Nothing is recorded or saved.
Allow microphone
How to turn it on
DecisionSay plainly why the mic is needed and what happens to the audio. Trust matters before a first take. (Whether audio is stored is still to be confirmed.)
8 · No clear note weak signal
‹ BackPhrase 1
Opening line of verse 1
We couldn't pick up a clear note. Try moving closer to the mic or singing a bit louder.
Try Again
Hear target
DecisionNo score when the signal is weak. A wrong score would be worse than none, because it teaches the singer the wrong thing.
9 · Noisy room low confidence
‹ BackPhrase 1
Opening line of verse 1
Background noise detected. Results may be less accurate.
Try Again
See result anyway
DecisionBe honest about uncertainty. Show a result only if the person chooses to, and label it as less certain.

Cut from V1, and why

Biggest risk

Trust in the feedback. If the app says a note is flat when it isn't, people stop believing it, and the whole product depends on that belief.

How V1 handles it: screens 8 and 9 never show a confident score when the signal is weak, and say so in plain words.

How to test it: sing known notes and compare the app's reading against a tuner, then check how often the two disagree.
